New Residential Investment Corp. stock rises Wednesday, still underperforms market
Shares of New Residential Investment Corp. rallied 1.82% to $11.74 Wednesday, on what proved to be an all-around positive trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index rising 3.19% to 12,964.86 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 2.81% to 34,061.06. This was the stock's third consecutive day of gains. New Residential Investment Corp. closed $0.07 short of its 52-week high ($11.81), which the company reached on November 3rd.
The stock outperformed some of its competitors Wednesday, as Realty Income Corp. rose 1.34% to $68.58, New York Mortgage Trust Inc. fell 2.68% to $3.27, and Nam Tai Property Inc. fell 3.69% to $6.27. Trading volume (8.3 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 5.5 M.
