Apple Inc. stock falls Thursday, still outperforms market
Shares of Apple Inc. shed 3.97% to $130.06 Thursday, on what proved to be an all-around poor trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index falling 4.08% to 10,646.10 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 2.42% to 29,927.07. The stock's fall snapped a two-day winning streak. Apple Inc. closed $52.88 below its 52-week high ($182.94), which the company achieved on January 4th.
The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Thursday, as Microsoft Corp. fell 2.70% to $244.97, Alphabet Inc. Cl A fell 3.40% to $2,120.67, and International Business Machines Corp. fell 1.01% to $135.67. Trading volume (107.8 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 96.4 M.
