Twitter Inc. stock rises Monday, still underperforms market
Shares of Twitter Inc. inched 0.57% higher to $50.74 Monday, on what proved to be an all-around favorable trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index rising 2.65% to 3,677.95 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 1.86% to 30,185.82. This was the stock's third consecutive day of gains. Twitter Inc. closed $17.67 short of its 52-week high ($68.41), which the company reached on October 20th.
The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Monday, as Microsoft Corp. rose 3.92% to $237.53 and Alphabet Inc. Cl A rose 3.53% to $99.97. Trading volume (14.1 M) remained 1.3 million below its 50-day average volume of 15.4 M.
