Apple Inc. stock outperforms competitors on strong trading day
Shares of Apple Inc. inched 0.23% higher to $150.77 Monday, on what proved to be an all-around grim trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index falling 0.60% to 10,802.92 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 1.11% to 29,260.81. The stock's rise snapped a three-day losing streak. Apple Inc. closed $32.17 short of its 52-week high ($182.94), which the company reached on January 4th.
The stock outperformed some of its competitors Monday, as Microsoft Corp. fell 0.20% to $237.45, Alphabet Inc. Cl A fell 0.58% to $98.17, and International Business Machines Corp. fell 0.57% to $122.01. Trading volume (92.7 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 76.5 M.
