Apple Inc. stock underperforms Friday when compared to competitors
Shares of Apple Inc. slid 3.00% to $138.20 Friday, on what proved to be an all-around dismal trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index falling 1.51% to 10,575.62 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 1.71% to 28,725.51. This was the stock's third consecutive day of losses. Apple Inc. closed $44.74 short of its 52-week high ($182.94), which the company achieved on January 4th.
The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Friday, as Microsoft Corp. fell 1.94% to $232.90, Alphabet Inc. Cl A fell 1.82% to $95.65, and International Business Machines Corp. fell 2.32% to $118.81. Trading volume (123.6 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 79.4 M.
