Linde PLC stock outperforms competitors despite losses on the day
Shares of Linde PLC slumped 0.97% to $293.40 Tuesday, on what proved to be an all-around grim trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index falling 2.01% to 3,821.55 and Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 1.56% to 30,946.99. This was the stock's second consecutive day of losses. Linde PLC closed $58.78 short of its 52-week high ($352.18), which the company achieved on January 5th.
The stock demonstrated a mixed performance when compared to some of its competitors Tuesday, as Air Products & Chemicals Inc. fell 1.49% to $242.51, DuPont de Nemours Inc. fell 0.42% to $57.33, and Dow Inc. rose 0.59% to $52.53. Trading volume (2.5 M) remained 96,636 below its 50-day average volume of 2.6 M.
