AstraZeneca PLC ADR falls Thursday, underperforms market
The AstraZeneca PLC ADR slid 1.14% to $66.72 Thursday, on what proved to be an all-around favorable trading session for the stock market, with the NASDAQ Composite Index rising 1.08% to 12,162.59 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 1.03% to 32,529.63. The ADR's fall snapped a three-day winning streak. AstraZeneca PLC ADR closed $4.98 below its 52-week high ($71.70), which the company achieved on April 8th.
The ADR underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Thursday, as AbbVie Inc. fell 0.93% to $149.75, Amgen Inc. fell 0.78% to $249.75, and Gilead Sciences Inc. fell 0.82% to $60.40. Trading volume (6.2 M) remained 134,614 below its 50-day average volume of 6.4 M.
