IHS Markit Ltd. stock rises Friday, still underperforms market
Shares of IHS Markit Ltd. inched 0.74% higher to $108.61 Friday, on what proved to be an all-around great trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index rising 2.24% to 4,384.65 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 2.51% to 34,058.75. This was the stock's second consecutive day of gains. IHS Markit Ltd. closed $27.21 short of its 52-week high ($135.82), which the company achieved on December 16th.
The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Friday, as International Business Machines Corp. rose 1.81% to $124.18, RELX PLC ADR rose 2.14% to $30.59, and MSCI Inc. rose 0.93% to $513.21. Trading volume (29.9 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 2.5 M.
