Deere & Co. stock rises Wednesday, still underperforms market
Shares of Deere & Co. inched 0.99% higher to $336.51 Wednesday, on what proved to be an all-around favorable trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index rising 1.56% to 4,155.17 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 1.29% to 32,812.50. The stock's rise snapped a two-day losing streak. Deere & Co. closed $110.25 short of its 52-week high ($446.76), which the company reached on April 20th.
The stock outperformed some of its competitors Wednesday, as Caterpillar Inc. fell 0.35% to $182.87, AGCO Corp. fell 0.06% to $105.38, and Kubota Corp. ADR fell 4.28% to $78.62. Trading volume (1.1 M) remained 655,731 below its 50-day average volume of 1.8 M.
