Deere & Co. stock underperforms Friday when compared to competitors despite daily gains
Shares of Deere & Co. advanced 3.48% to $343.18 Friday, on what proved to be an all-around favorable trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index rising 1.42% to 4,130.29 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.97% to 32,845.13. This was the stock's third consecutive day of gains. Deere & Co. closed $103.58 short of its 52-week high ($446.76), which the company achieved on April 20th.
The stock demonstrated a mixed performance when compared to some of its competitors Friday, as Caterpillar Inc. rose 5.54% to $198.25, AGCO Corp. rose 5.53% to $108.92, and Kubota Corp. ADR rose 0.83% to $82.91. Trading volume (1.9 M) eclipsed its 50-day average volume of 1.8 M.
